MySQL's TO_SECONDS(~)
method returns the number of seconds from the start of the standard calendar (0000-00-00) from a provided date/datetime.
WARNING
This method should only be used with dates after the start of the Gregorian calendar (1582), as it does not account for lost days when the calendar was switched from Julian calendar.
Parameters
1. date
| date|datetime
A date or datetime to convert to seconds since year 0000-00-00.
Return value
The number of seconds from the start of the standard calendar (0000-00-00) for the input date/datetime.
Examples
To return seconds since year 0 for a datetime:
SELECT TO_SECONDS('2020-04-16 09:30:20');
