Python's String.islower() method returns a boolean indicating whether all characters in a string are lowercase.

Note that when the string contains only special characters False is returned.

Parameters

String.islower() method does not take any parameters.

Return Value

A single boolean indicating whether or not all the characters in a string are lowercase.

Examples

Basic Usage

When all the characters are not lowercase False is returned

string = 'SkyTowner'
string.islower()
False

When all the characters are lowercase True is returned

string = 'skytowner'
string.islower()
True

When all the characters are special characters or numbers False is returned

string = '123'
string.islower()
False

When the string is a mix of special characters and lowercase text True is returned

string = '123a'
string.islower()
True
