To convert a Tag object to a string in Beautiful Soup, simply use str(Tag).

Example

Consider the following HTML document:

my_html = "<p>A cat sat on a mat</p>"
soup = BeautifulSoup(my_html)

To get the p tag as a string:

p_tag = soup.find("p")
html = str(p_tag)
print(html)
<p>A cat sat on a mat</p>

To just keep the inner content of the tag as a string:

p_tag_text = soup.find("p").get_text()
print(p_tag_text)
print(type(p_tag_text))
