To wrap a tag with another tag in Beautiful Soup use the wrap(~) method.

Consider the following HTML document:

my_html = """
   <p>Alice is <i>happy</i></p>
"""
soup = BeautifulSoup(my_html)

To wrap <i>happy</i> with a b tag, use the wrap method:

p_tag = soup.find("p")
i_tag = p_tag.find("i")
