To get a specific color value from a color map in Matplotlib, use:
cmap = matplotlib.cm.get_cmap("autumn")rgba = cmap(0.3)print(rgba)
(1.0, 0.2980392156862745, 0.0, 1.0)
Here, we're getting the color representation of the value 0.3
in the color map autumn
. Note that, by default, the lower and upper bounds for color maps are 0 and 1, respectively. If you call cmap(15)
, for instance, this will return the same result as cmap(1)
.
