Panda's DataFrame.iat property is used to access or update a single value in the DataFrame using integer syntax.

Examples

Consider the following DataFrame:

df = pd.DataFrame({"A":[3,4], "B":[5,6]}, index=["a","b"])
df
A B
a 3 5
b 4 6

Accessing a value

To access the value residing at row 0, column 1:

df.iat[0,1]
5

Setting a value

To set the value at row 0, column 1:

df.iat[0,1] = 9
df
A B
a 3 9
b 4 6
