expand_more You can amend the most recent commit message in case you mistyped the first time around using the following command:
git commit --amend - m "amended message"
Where "amended message"
represents the new amended message that you would like to newly commit.
Examples
Say the we initially performed a commit using the below command with message "This contains a mistake"
:
git commit -m "This contains a mistake"
To amend the log message for the commit to "Mistake now fixed"
:
git commit --amend - m "Mistake now fixed"
